Orlando local weather
Orlando, located in the heart of central Florida, is situated in a sub-tropic climate zone. With the west to east breezes from the Gulf towards the Atlantic, temperatures even on the hottest days will not exceed those of inland regions far to the north of Florida. Winters are basically non-existent with mild spring-like days for most of the season. Ideal temperatures range throughout the spring and fall providing Orlando with an ideal climate to enjoy the outdoors. Summers are an ideal time to cool down with all the water parks and wet rides designed for such occasions in the major theme parks. After all, Orlando is the year-round destination for some fabulous fun in the sun!
Winter
December is ushered in with Holidays Around The World an Epcot® World Showcase honoring the folklore and traditions of the winter holiday season. The parks are all decorated for Decembers main event, especially for the holiday crowd, where unique shopping and live entertainment go hand in hand. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter with its snowy atmosphere will put you into a winter mood without all the cold chills! The ideal climate of central Florida makes Orlando a year-round golf destination as well, where a game can be found at one of the many championship courses in the area! Most winter days, the temperatures may warrant wearing a lightweight jacket in the evening, otherwise shirt sleeves will do just fine. Sunset may bring a slight chill to the air, but the exciting nightlife is designed to keep party goers delightfully warm!
Spring
A perfect season for golf, theme parks, area gardens tours and shopping. It's spring in central Florida, where the weather is the most comfortable for outdoor activities and the mid-week crowds remain light until the latter part of the season. Holidays can get quite busy, college spring break, Easter and Memorial Day weeks can draw larger than normal crowds into the theme parks.
Summer
Plan a day of fun in the sun! Make a week of it, because there's lots to do. If the temperature soars, take the plunge into one of the local water parks for instant relief. Most summer days start with a warm sunny morning, perfect for an early game of golf. This is central Florida's rainy season, however if there is a sprinkle or downpour, go shopping at one of the mega outlets centers or visit one of the many indoor attractions such as the local art galleries or science museum or try out the fun at DisneyQuest®, Wonderworks or Ripley's. Many of the theme parks are open evenings and they are usually less crowded between 6 and 10 pm, it's a great time to checkout that ride you may have missed! The evenings are also conducive to dining at one of the outdoor cafes or for catching a live show at one of the dinner theaters around town. You'll find a variety of ways to top off a fabulous day!
Autumn
Another perfect season for golf, theme parks, shopping or enjoying the finale of a lingering summer season in Florida. Throughout the fall, daytime temperatures are still in the warm mode. For autumn's gorgeous days and comfortable temperatures, a sweater or light jacket will suffice for almost any outdoor evening activity. The parks celebrate the season with Halloween themed attractions and Epcot® showcases the annual International Food & Wine Festival. Orlando offers great outdoor temps during every season, so anytime is a good time to visit.
